More often than not, NXT Takeover‘s are some of the WWE‘s most anticipated events in the company’s calendar year. Filled with great stories, action and memorable moments. The events are a treat for the hardcore WWE audience. However, perhaps most favorably, they are blissfully short in comparison to the main roster pay-per-views that follow. There is a chance, however, that this might soon change.
According to PWInsider, this year’s NXT Takeover: Brooklyn will start an hour earlier than normal. This follows the main roster pay-per-views choosing to do the same. And with this, the main roster pay-per-views have become longer.
The most likely reason for this is that with the pay-per-view’s main events often overrunning – thanks to Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa – starting an hour earlier provides more breathing room for a late finish. If NXT utilize the extra hour to the best of their ability, we may see more than the usual five matchups. This may also pave way for every NXT Championship to be present at every TakeOver without feeling overcrowded.
