  • We start off hot with two championship matches confirmed for tonight’s tapings. Velveteen Dream will be defending his North American Championship against Buddy Murphy who makes his return to NXT, and Shayna Baszler hoping to best Kairi Sane to keep her NXT Women’s Championship. The match has the added condition that if Sane loses, she can never challenge for the title again.

  • Reina Gonzalez def. Lacey Lane
  • NXT have also got a new entrance song, Slipknot’s “All Out Life”, perhaps this will be debuted on tonight’s broadcast of the show.
  • We really are going full steam ahead, Velveteen Dream vs. Buddy Murphy for the North American Championship is up next.
  • In what we can only imagine would have been a fantastic match, Velveteen Dream successfully defended his title against Buddy Murphy just five nights after retaining against Matt Riddle.
  • The WWE.com exclusive released after Takeover is shown to the Full Sail Crowd. It appears NXT going to tease tension in the Undisputed Era as Roderick Strong is blamed for Adam Cole’s main event loss

  • Riddick Moss comes down to the ring for his bout with Raul Mendoza with a new gimmick that involves him skipping for the crowd as a pre-match workout… this should be fun.
  • The pre-match workout clearly didn’t work, as Raul Mendoza defeats Moss.
  • Johnny Gargano is out next with the crowd firmly behind him chanting “Johnny Champion”. Perhaps we will see Gargano’s first challenger revealed here.
  • After thanking the Full Sail Crowd and saying this was a long journey, Undisputed Era, interestingly without Roderick Strong, come down to the ring to interrupt Johnny Gargano. Are we heading for Gargano vs. Cole II at the next Takeover? Cole says Gargano got lucky and that he is the “uncrowned” NXT Champion.

  • It was all a plan!!! Johnny Gargano says he will give Cole a rematch if he stops being a “baybay” before Roderick Strong comes from the crowd and blindsides Gargano, leading to an Undisputed Era beatdown. Johnny has been tricked.
  • Dominik Dijakovic beats an unnamed enhancement talent.
  • Dijakovic takes to the mic and says he is only in the US because his family took the opportunity and chose to immigrate. He says he needs to take his opportunity, and that’s the North American Championship. Dominik is clearly eyeing up Velveteen Dream.
  • We’ve got our second championship match of the evening up next as Shayna Baszler defends against the woman she beat for the title, Kairi Sane. If Sane loses, this will be her last opportunity at the NXT Women’s Championship.
  • Tension between The Sky Pirates is once again teased as Io Shirai attacks Shayna Baszler as her and a trainer check on Kairi Sane. Io has cost Sane the title and ensures Kairi won’t be able to challenge for it again. The Horsewomen then beatdown Shirai and Sane.
  • We might have just seen Kairi Sane’s last appearance in NXT. After the previous segment, she is left in the ring and bows to the crowd. Could she be one of the names called up from NXT in next week’s Superstar Shake-Up?

  • Jaxson Ryker suffers his first loss in NXT this year, but it is by DQ to Humberto Carrillo after interference from the Forgotten Sons. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch make the save for Carrillo.
  • Candice LeRae & Kacy Catanzaro def. Aliyah & Vanessa Borne
  • Surprise surprise, the War Raiders def. The Street Profits
  • Big match up next, Johnny Gargano faces off against Roderick Strong. This should be class.
  • Johnny Gargano def. Roderick Strong after Adam Cole accidentally blasted Strong with a kick. Undisputed Era tried to make the most of their numbers advantage but Matt Riddle prevented more interference.
  • Roderick Strong and Adam Cole argue before Undisputed Era leave the ring. NXT are really teasing a split in the group tonight.

  • Jaxson Ryker vs. Humberto Carrillo up next… wait, didn’t we already see that tonight?
  • The exact same segment as before was taped but this time with Carrillo winning via DQ, but Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch have proper steel chairs instead of the padded NXT souvenir versions.
  • Dominik Dijakovic in another squash match defeating Mansoor.
  • Velveteen Dream appears on his couch and has a message for Dijakovic to the tune of America’s national anthem after his Statue of Liberty entrance at Takeover.

  • The Forgotten Sons def. Humberto Carrillo, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch
  • KUSHIDA is here!!! Any guesses on who he is facing?
  • How did you guess? He’s facing Kassius Ohno in his first NXT match, like every other new signee.

  • KUSHIDA def. Kassius Ohno
  • Bianca Belair def. Mia Yim
  • Oh boy! We’ve got Matt Riddle vs. Adam Cole up next.
  • Matt Riddle def. Adam Cole and Undisputed Era bicker once again.

That’s all for tonight’s tapings. Let’s see how this is played out on NXT TV in the coming weeks.
