During tonight’s episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network, an NXT Title match was made official for January 6’s New Years Evil show.
In a rematch from TakeOver 31 on October 4, Finn Balor will defend the brand’s top championship against Kyle O’Reilly.
This comes after O’Reilly won a #1 contender match tonight against former UK Champion Pete Dunne.
During the TakeOver 31 match, Balor suffered a broken jaw and this will actually be his first match back since then (unless he has one between now and then which would seem unlikely).
Balor has reigned as NXT Champion since winning the vacant title against Adam Cole on September 8.
Karrion Kross returned tonight and challenged Damian Priest to a match for New Year’s Evil too, and that match was also made official.
