WrestleVotes has said that Triple H went “All Out” for NXT Takeover: Toronto and the company are reportedly very happy with the card they have put together, so tonight’s tapings should be good.

  • A heel Io Shirai comes out to the crowd after turning on Candice LeRae last night. She has a new titantron look and new entrance music.
  • After five minutes of remaining silent, Io says she doesn’t need the fans and doesn’t need friends.

  • Matt Riddle defeats Arturo Ruas (formerly Adrian Jaoude)
  • Wow, I did not see this one coming. Killian Dain attacked Riddle after the match, returning to NXT TV. He has been working on live events for a while now. It looks like Killian Dain vs. Matt Riddle is a match we could get at the next NXT Takeover show or even tonight.
  • He puts Riddle through the stage to end the segment.

  • Wow, they really have gone all out for these tapings as KUSHIDA is here to face Smackdown star Apollo Crews. Not sure if this is one-off or a full-time move for Crews.
  • KUSHIDA picks up the win.
  • Adam Cole comes out and says he wants to defend his title tonight as he is a fighting champion. He picked Twan Tucker, an enhancement talent trained by Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae.
  • The match does not take place as Gargano attacks Cole and the pair brawl into the crowd.
  • Street Profits def. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch to retain NXT Tag Team Championships. After the match, reDragon come out and challenge the champs.

  • Following on from the tournament yesterday, Jordan Myles (ACH) def. Angel Garza (Garza Jr,) to advance to the finals of the breakout tournament. The winner gets a title shot of their choice.
  • Shane Thorne seemed angry when going to commentary, perhaps he wanted to take part in the tournament. Myles screams that he is “going to Takeover”.
  • Bianca Belair defeats Xia Li
  • Velveteen Dream comes out and says he is not ready to lose the North American Championship. He says the day he drops the belt is the day “The Experience”. He then talks up Roderick Strong, but says he will overcome him. It seems as if Dream vs. Strong for the title will be the match NXT go with for Takeover: Toronto. Yes, please.
  • Or maybe not… Roderick Strong demands a match at the big event with Dream but Pete Dunne comes out. He takes out Strong and clearly wants a match with Dream. This seems great!!!

  • Io Shirai is handed the DQ win over Kacy Catanzaro after Candice LeRae immediately runs in and attacks her.
  • Pete Dunne vs. Roderick Strong is booked for later tonight. This could be sensational!!!
  • In what would likely have been a great match, Damien Priest (Punishment Martinez) bested Keith Lee.
  • After Breeze beats Ryker, Forgotten Sons attack the former main roster star, only for Fandango to come down and make the save. It looks like the Fashion Police are here in NXT.

  • With Malcom Bivens (Stokely Hathaway) at ringside, Cameron Grimes (Trevor Lee) and Bronson Reed (Jonah Rock) are not set to square off in the semifinals of the Breakout tournament. The winner will face Jordan Myles (ACH) in the final.
  • Cameron Grimes advances to the finals of the Breakout Tournament to face Jordan Myles after besting Bronson Reed.
  • Shayna Baszler comes out to the crowd and says she has heard Mia Yim’s challenge. She reveals that she will be defending her championship against Yim at NXT Takeover: Toronto the night before SummerSlam. Mia Yim comes out and says she has nothing to lose and will beat Shayna.
  • Matt Riddle makes his way to the ring for a match, but Killian Dain destroys him once again before hand.
  • KUSHIDA defeats 3.0’s Scott Parker
  • William Regal hosts a contract signing between Street Profits and Undisputed Era for NXT Takeover: Toronto.

  • Joaquin Wilde def. Shane Thorne
  • Oh boy!! Pete Dunne bests Roderick Strong in a match I can’t wait to see.
  • After failing to attack Dunne, the Brit floors Pete and stands tall.
