NXT TV ran unopposed again this week with AEW Dynamite moved to Thursday. With Wednesday all to themselves, NXT’s viewership dropped from last week.
Bryan Alvarez reported the number on Twitter earlier today. For August 26, NXT averaged 824,000 viewers, down from 853,000 last week.

Last week’s number was the highest NXT rating of 2020 so far. As such, only dropping by 29,000 viewers shouldn’t be looked at as a complete failure by any means. However, it does appear that this may currently be the show’s peak in terms of potential viewership.
The show had some very notable moments with Karrion Kross vacated the NXT Championship due to injury. As a result, a massive Fatal Four-Way 60-Minute Iron Man match was announced for next week. The participants are arguably some of the best NXT Champions with Finn Balor, Adam Cole, Tommaso Ciampa, and Johnny Gargano taking part.
The most interesting of the four is Ciampa, who appeared to turn heel on the show. It has been over a year since he was forced to vacate the title due to injury but perhaps it is time to take it back.
The show also featured a title change as Breezango defeated Imperium. This marked the first championship wins for both Tyler Breeze and Fandango in WWE.
