Report: NXT UK Talent ‘Very Worried’ About Future Of The Brand WWE

The most recent set of NXT UK tapings, which were set to be taped at BT Sport Studio in London, were cancelled due to BT Sport using the studio to provide coverage of the ongoing football season.

The cancellation resulted in some reported uneasiness backstage on the brand.

NXT UK stars Tyler Bate, Blair Davenport, Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang made appearances on this week’s episode of NXT 2.0, seemingly setting up a future Worlds Collide event between the brands.

However, that may not be the case and the moves may end up being permanent, per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, a lot of the NXT UK talent that were not called over to the United States are reportedly ‘very worried’ about the future of the brand.

He said:

“Nobody knows, but everybody in the company – I mean I’m sure Paul Levesque (Triple H) knows – but there are many people in NXT UK who are presuming that (NXT UK) is not long for the world.

“NXT UK has canceled its next two tapings. So it’s kinda like, there’s all these signs but WWE has not announced it, has not told anyone officially, but that’s kind of the big story in WWE right now, like ‘What’s going on?’.

“And nobody’s telling people, ‘You don’t need to worry’, nobody’s said that either. So of course the people in the UK that were not called to come to the United States are very worried.”

While he was not present on this week’s NXT show, Charlie Dempsey, the son of AEW’s William Regal, is also reportedly set to make appearances on NXT 2.0 in the coming weeks.
