Oba Femi Next WWE NXT Championship Challenger Revealed? WWE

Oba Femi has revealed his personal choice to step up and challenge him for the WWE NXT Championship.

Last night’s WWE Battleground premium live event saw Oba Femi rack up yet another successful defence of the NXT Championship, knocking off a valiant Myles Borne.

With Borne in the rear view, and Femi already holding wins over names across NXT, TNA and even WWE’s main roster, fans are questioning who could be next to step up to The Ruler.

Speaking to WFLA News Channel 8, Femi named former NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo as his personal choice to challenge him next, recalling their past feud in 2024.

Femi said:

“When it comes to true threats to my title and position, there’s not many left. Unless we outsource to TNA or we outsource to the main roster and find someone who is worthy to challenge.

“But based on story and sequential occurences, I do have a loss to Tony D’Angelo. He took the North American Championship off of me last year around October. So if I was the booker, that would be the match to make, because he’s the last person to pin Oba Femi clean 1-2-3. But I know I can easily defeat Tony if I really wanted to.”

As Femi mentioned, Tony D’Angelo was the man to end his dominant 273 day NXT North American Championship reign back in October – with The Don then successfully defending the title against Femi in a rematch at WWE Halloween Havoc.

Despite Femi’s desire to settle the score with D’Angelo it remains to be seen whether WWE will opt to go in this direction, especially after D’Angelo lost to his former ‘Underboss’ Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo at WWE Battleground.
