There has been an update on Oba Femi’s WWE future following his defeat to Tony D’Angelo at NXT Halloween Havoc.
Former NXT North American Champion Oba Femi was in action at last night’s NXT Halloween Havoc event in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where he lost his rematch to Tony D’Angelo in a Tables, Ladders and Scares match.
Femi’s defeat has had a lot of fans speculating about his future in NXT, and whether he could be set for a call up to the WWE main roster.
Tonight’s episode of WWE Raw is also set to take place in Hershey, Pennsylvania, so there is an opportunity for NXT stars to make a potential appearance on the show.
In an update on Oba Femi’s future from Fightful Select (subscription required), Oba has long been viewed as a future WWE Champion within the company, as far back as his North American Championship win back in January.
As of Halloween Havoc, Corey Brennan of Fightful had not heard of anyone saying goodbyes, but is currently in the midst of enquiring further.
However, many within NXT view Oba as the man that will end up dethroning Trick Williams for the NXT Championship, most likely at NXT Stand & Deliver over WrestleMania weekend.
What I know about the Oba Femi rumor so far.
– With RAW being in Hershey, there's undoubtedly an opportunity to debut/bring in NXT stars for one time appearances.
– Oba has long been viewed as a future WWE Champion internally, as far back as winning the North American title.… pic.twitter.com/M4yUEXM4HM
