Odyssey Jones Opens Up After 10 Months Injured WWE

NXT star Odyssey Jones has opened up about his ambitions in WWE after returning to television following a 10-month injury.

Jones suffered a ruptured patellar tendon in January of this year and as such has not competed on NXT television since December 2021.

He made his return to television on the most recent (October 25) edition of NXT, joining Malik Blade and Edris Enofé in the parking lot after they failed to secure the NXT Tag Team Titles.

Jones appeared on Wrestling the Rap Game podcast before NXT Halloween Havoc, and spoke of his future goals in the company:

“My first goal, and this is always, enjoy the moment and have fun. If I don’t appreciate and overlook what I’m going through and what I’m in, that’s when it’s all a waste. That’s when you see people angry and bothered. Have fun.

!The other goal, obviously, stay healthy. If I was healthy this whole year, it would be a completely different year. Not saying it would be better or worse with or without me, but different.

“We could create different stories and do different things. One, enjoy it. Two, stay healthy. Three, get the people going. Do my job. Make magic. Have fun. Share the energy, have that reverberate in the stands in NXT. I’m excited.”

When asked whether he had any designs on the NXT Championship, Jones replied:

“Everyone wants to go for the top title. I just want the opportunity. Odyssey Jones is truth and I’m good. I can be something special in this business.

“The title is nice, but I feel the person makes the title. You give me whatever and I’ll do the best I can do with it to make it the best it can be. Do my job.”

Jones is set to have his first match in 10 months on this evening’s (November 1) edition of NXT.
