Official Name Change For Championship In WWE WWE

There has been an official name change for a WWE championship. Find out which championship now has a new name.

On tonight’s April 18 edition of WWE NXT, an NXT UK Championship holder was introduced with a new name for his championship.

On commentary and during his ring entrance, Noam Dar was referred to as the “NXT Heritage Cup Champion”.

Dropping the NXT UK designation, it seems the Heritage Cup will remain in place.

On April 4, the latest name to join the NXT roster after coming across from the now-defunct NXT UK brand was Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar.

Dar sat ringside with the Heritage Cup trophy for a match between Nathan Frazer and Dragon Lee, which Dragon Lee won.

Then last week, there was a video package with Dar explaining the rules of the Heritage Cup matches and announcing that the concept would be making its way to NXT in the future.

Tonight, Noam Dar made his NXT TV in-ring debut with a win over Myles Borne.

Elsewhere at tonight’s NXT taping, a fan favorite star made their return after two months out of action due to injury.
