Omos has addressed his WWE status amid his lengthy absence from the company’s programming.
After debuting in WWE as AJ Styles’ bodyguard in 2020, Omos became a featured player on television, holding the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships with Styles before eventually breaking out as a singles star under the management of MVP in early 2022.
While The Nigerian Giant would continue to feature following Triple H’s takeover of WWE creative in the Summer of 2022 – including rivalries with Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins in the Spring of 2023 – his appearances became extremely sporadic beyond that point – competing exclusively in battle royals and live event matches.
With his last match on WWE TV being last year’s Andre The Giant Battle Royal in April 2024, Omos shared an update on his status while speaking to Adam Wilbourn of WhatCulture.
When asked about his absence, Omos expressed his readiness and excitement at the prospect of returning, saying:
“I’m just waiting. I had fun in Japan and I’m just patiently waiting.”
When asked about his goals for 2025, Omos said he was ready to make his return to the ring and “dominate” once again.
Omos said:
“To be honest, man, I’m just here to dominate. I’m just ready to come back and dominate in the ring again.
“There’s nothing that brings me more joy than being in the wrestling ring. So whenever that happens, I’m just ready and excited to get back in there.”
While it’s been over a year since his last WWE match, Omos was most recently wrestling for Pro Wrestling NOAH throughout January – a run which saw him win the GHC Tag Team Championships with Jack Morris.
It remains to be seen when Omos will make his return to WWE programming but we will provide updates when they become available.
