High praise indeed. The king of the star rating Dave Meltzer has called Will Ospreay vs. Kazuchika Okada from this year’s G1 Climax “one of the best matches I ever saw in my life”.
This quote was reported by Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer buddy Bryan Alvarez, who echoed Dave’s comments and said it was difficult to find any flaws with the match at all.
Okada had to hit four Rainmakers before he was able to pin the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, which is about three more than he usually has to hit to put away an opponent.
