AEW has confirmed that Orange Cassidy will get a new opponent for tonight’s AEW World Championship Eliminator tournament semi-final bout.
Cassidy was originally set to face off against Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite, however it has been announced that Moxley is entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program and will be taking time out of the ring as a result of that.
On Twitter, AEW indicated that the semi-final will go ahead, with Cassidy facing a replacement opponent:

On Wrestling Observer Live, Tony Khan stated that Cassidy’s opponent will be revealed live on Dynamite.
CM Punk has teased that he could be the last-minute addition to the tournament, tweeting:

The winner of this second semi-final match will advance to face Bryan Danielson in the tournament finals at Full Gear 2021 on November 13.
