Hit Row made their SmackDown debut on tonight’s (October 22) episode of WWE SmackDown, when Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott and Top Dolla teamed up to defeat two local competitors.
The match with the local talent was not the original plan for the group’s first night on the blue brand however, per Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, who posted a rundown of the SmackDown card on Fightful Select prior to the show.
The original plan saw Hit Row taking on the team of Jinder Mahal and Shanky instead of the two local competitors that it eventually became.
There is currently no word on why WWE changed from Mahal and Shanky.
Jinder & Shanky were listed internally as Hit Row's opponents, which obviously didn't end up being the case. We'll work to find out why it was changed. Seems like this went better
