A now-deleted image appeared to reveal the original plans for the WWE Championship match at WWE Day 1.
During the first ‘premium live event‘ of 2022, Brock Lesnar defeated Big E, Bobby Lashley, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins to win his sixth WWE Championship. Lesnar was added to this title match hours before the event, after Universal Champion Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19.
Recapping the match results from WWE Day 1, WWE on FOX shared a graphic on Twitter, with photos of the winners of each bout.
Under Lesnar’s photo however, the graphic noted that Big E had retained his WWE Championship, seemingly the planned result of the title match, before the addition of The Beast.
The graphic, which was quickly deleted by WWE On FOX, can be seen below:
Looks like someone made an error. This was tweeted and deleted by the WWE on FOX account. Look under the photo of Brock. pic.twitter.com/sZqCfm8fqq
