The original script for the Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch WWE Women’s Championship exchange segment on SmackDown has been revealed.
On the October 22 edition of SmackDown, Lynch and Flair exchanged the Raw Women’s and SmackDown Women’s Championships. During the segment, Flair dropped her gold when Lynch reached for it, before Lynch threw her belt at Flair, reportedly all unplanned.
As per Fightful Select (subscription required), the original plan for the segment was for Lynch to grab Flair’s title and brag about being ‘Becky Two Belts’ before Sonya Deville would order her to give the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Flair.
Flair reportedly didn’t agree this was the best way to go about the title changes, but was told to stay the course.
PWInsider previously reported that there was heated backstage confrontation between the two stars after the bout. Fightful noted that Flair claimed her physically dropping the Raw Women’s Championship in the segment was accidental. Flair was reportedly asked to leave the venue before Lynch’s dark match finished to avoid further altercations.
Fightful also confirmed the report by TalkSPORT that Flair campaigned to lose clean to Bianca Belair during their Raw Women’s Championship match on Raw.
