Batista shocking returned to WWE on the 25th February episode of Monday Night Raw. He ruined former Evolution stablemate Ric Flair’s birthday, attacking him in an attempt to get to Triple H, and was reportedly scheduled to appear on Raw last night to address his actions.
According to Ringside News, Batista was not supposed to appear live on the show, but rather in a ”via satellite” segment. Plans changed and instead WWE just played an Instagram message that Batista had posted.

Triple H would then respond with an emotional promo where he condemned Batista for attacking Flair, who just one year prior was in a coma. ‘The Game’ also mentioned how he was standing beside Ric Flair when he buried his late son Reid.
There is no news on why WWE decided to alter their plans and have Batista deliver a promo ”via Instagram” instead of ”via satellite”. However, Triple H challenged Batista to a one-on-one confrontation which was confirmed for next week later on in the show, so plans could have just been shifted back a week.
It appears that this is all leading towards a Triple H vs. Batista match at WrestleMania 35, and should Batista and Triple H continue to cut emotional promos and have intense segments, then this could be one of the best storylines leading into this year’s show.
