During an appearance on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Jungle Boy revealed that AEW didn’t originally intend for him to form a tag team with Luchasaurus, with the company having another tag team partner in mind.
Jungle Boy said that after meeting Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks at an independent show, the plans were for him to form a tag team with Marko Stunt as opposed to Luchasaurus, courtesy of WrestlingInc:
“I had already had the call before that, and originally, I remember the first time I actually met The Bucks. I met Matt [Jackson] and Cody before, but The Bucks and Cody came to Bar Wrestling because they were kind of going around doing a little indie tour,” Jungle Boy noted. “And I took this picture with them that was like my announcement picture. But originally, they were telling me that day me and Marko were supposed to be a team. That was the original plan before he [Luchasaurus] was in the mix.”
This comes after it emerged that another AEW star told Tony Khan that ‘Jurassic Express’, something the boss came up with himself, that the name was “f**king stupid”.
