Otis Talks AJ Styles Being Scared Of The MiTB Barbell Spot

Otis is currently your Mr. Money in the Bank, much to the shock of AJ Styles. Styles was the one who unhooked the briefcase before dropping it into the hands of the big man.

One of the very first spots in the match involved these two as Styles was pinned under a barbell. Now, Otis has revealed that Styles was terrified to do the spot. Here is the quote from Otis’ interview with Sports Illustrated:

“I worked with Aleister Black in NXT, but it was my first time working with a lot of those guys. The last couple scenes we filmed were in the weight room, and AJ was so scared to have that bar dropped on him. I kept telling him, ‘Don’t worry, I’m as strong as an ox,’ but I hope I didn’t get him too bad in the sternum.”

Styles was left to be crushed beneath the weight (even though barbells are designed so you can’t be crushed) and Rey Mysterio did not stop to help him. Eventually, Styles was able to get out and continued the match. He was one of the featured performers, coming very close to winning the match.
