Overnight Viewership Down For WWE SmackDown Before Extreme Rules

Last night’s SmackDown was pretty mediocre. While it didn’t feature a Karaoke segment, which automatically made it better than last week’s, go angle or segment made me very excited for Extreme Rules tomorrow night.

For my money, the best thing about the show was the AJ Styles vs. Matt Riddle Intercontinental Championship match that main evented the show. Despite not winning, Riddle was put over strong in defeat.

As previously stated, this week’s show was significantly better than last week’s SmackDown, which was one of the worst and most damaging two hours of WWE television in quite some time.

Despite being widely regarded as a much better show, this week’s SmackDown brought in fewer viewers than the 07/10 episode that aired from the Performance Center.

This week’s SmackDown brought in an average of 1.893 million viewers. This is down by 8,000 from the 1.905 million figure that Friday Night SmackDown brought in for last week’s show.

However, last night’s viewership was up from the show the week before, which brought in just 1.777 million. However, that low number was to be expected as the show was taking place the day before July 4.
