On Twitter yesterday, Paige posted a cryptic tweet which seemed to imply that she was working on getting cleared for an in-ring return. She then later went into more detail on her Twitch stream.
The topic of Paige making her return to wrestling again came up in one of her Twitch streams, where the former Diva’s Champion was asked who she would like to face in her first match back in the ring.
Paige named Sasha Banks as her dream comeback opponent, stating that there is already a story there, and that Sasha is ‘one of the best’. She said:
“I would love to face Sasha (Banks). I feel like it’s a built-in storyline and she’s one of the best. She’s one of the best out there, men or women. She’s one of the best. Ain’t no one putting on friggin’ matches like her. Charlotte is great, everyone is great, but Sasha is one of those wrestlers that can literally fight a ladder and it be a five star match. She’ll carry me too (laughs). Help me out sis?”
Paige has not wrestled a match since January of 2018, where she suffered an injury in a six-woman tag match involving Sasha Banks.
Paige’s WWE contract reportedly expires in June of 2022, so we won’t have to wait to much longer to see if she gets cleared for an in-ring return, whether in WWE or elsewhere.
