If you watched SmackDown Live last night you will have seen that Paige was watching the IIconics win their match against jobbers at an awkward angle.
She was then approached by an unnecessarily surprised to see her backstage reporter who asked her why she was backstage at the company she literally works for.
Well, said Paige, I’m here because I’m going to be bringing a brand new tag team to SmackDown next week, so you better watch out or they’re gonna hit you and it will hurt.
But who could this tag team be? Well, there are about two to choose from if we’re right in thinking it’ll be someone from NXT; the Sky Pirates (Io Shirai & Kairi Sane) and the Two Horsewomen (Marina Shafir & Jessamyn Duke).
The current rumour as reported by Wrestling Inc is that it will be the former, as Paige would be a helpful talker for the Japanese duo. Vince is known for being reluctant to let foreign wrestlers speak, so having Paige front the team would counteract that.
When told of Paige’s plan, Peyton Royce of the IIconics said:
“Next week is the Superstar Shakeup so she’s probably bringing back… developing some new tag team, I guess, thinking that we will challenge any newcomers, and sure we’ll do that…,” Peyton said before trailing off.
“Point is, Paige wants to come out with this hot, hot new tag team… next week, we are ready. We are fighting champions and we are here to make this tag team division absolutely iconic,” Kay said with Royce.
