Former WWE Divas Champion Paige was unceremoniously cast aside from her SmackDown Live GM role when the McMahon Regime introduced the so-called New Era back in December and took over the running of the show. She has not been seen on WWE programming since but that is about to change.
As per PWInsider, Paige is expected to be at both Raw and SmackDown this week to promote the release of the movie Fighting With My Family, which is loosely based on the real-life story of how she got in WWE.
The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this past week to widespread critical acclaim. It debuts in the New York and Los Angeles markets later this week before receiving a full release across the US on February 14. I guess that’s Valentine’s Day date night sorted for many wrestling fans!
Paige’s role after the movie promotion is done remains unclear. She has recently expressed an interest in taking on a manager role but whether WWE would permit her to be in an environment where she could potentially get accidentally landed on remains to be seen.
Either way, due to the publicity generated by the movie, there is no doubt that she will be sticking around in some capacity.
