# Pat McAfee Will Never Return To Wrestling Television If Randy Orton Loses At WWE WrestleMania 42

Pat McAfee has stated that he will never return to wrestling television if Randy Orton loses at WWE WrestleMania 42.

Tonight on SmackDown, McAfee made his return to WWE after months away and revealed himself as the recent mystery phone caller of Randy Orton.

Back on the road after SmackDown, McAfee posted a video on social media stating:

*“How about that, marks? Never back on any wrestling television if Randy Orton loses at WrestleMania. I don’t know how long the business will last if that happens, but I will never come back.*

*“I am here on a mission to motivate a 6-foot-5 280-pound monster to lead the WWE. My friend, The Legend Killer, the GOAT, Randy Orton.*

*“Tickets available now. Most important match in the history of this business happens in Las Vegas, Nevada. Come watch it live.”*

Earlier on SmackDown, while Orton attacked Rhodes with a steel chair in the ring, McAfee explained that WWE has sucked creatively and business-wise with Rhodes as WWE Champion, and he wants to turn things around by installing [Randy Orton](https://wrestletalk.com/topic/randy-orton/) as the face of the company instead.

## The Real Reason Pat McAfee Returned To WWE

The goal of this reveal seems to be clear as McAfee even brought up the WrestleMania tickets being down during his SmackDown promo, and plugged them again in his video on social media.

However, they’re evidently turning it into the storyline of McAfee proving that Orton is better for WWE’s business than Cody Rhodes is.

It’ll be very interesting to see whether this latest development does have any noticeable impact on ticket sales, as that’s clearly the goal.
