After the WWE Backlash premium live event, an update has emerged on the current status of Pat McAfee following his match against Gunther.
Gunther won what was essentially an extended domination, despite Michael Cole attempting to assist his Raw broadcast partner.
On the official Backlash post-show, Byron Saxton said that he’d spoken to Pat McAfee, who said after the match “I’m good”.
However, Saxton mentioned that he wasn’t necessarily convinced McAfee was good, physically, but perhaps just in his head and his heart after Gunther showed him some respect after the match.
Jackie Redmond added that it’s unclear if McAfee will be on commentary for this coming Monday’s episode of WWE Raw.
The show takes place in Louisville, Kentucky, with CM Punk advertised to appear, in addition to Finn Balor vs AJ Styles, and Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY vs Roxanne Perez & Giulia.
We’ll keep you posted if there any further updates on the status of McAfee and his position on WWE Raw commentary going forward.
McAfee and Michael Cole have been the Raw announce team since the start of the year when the show moved to Netflix.
