Paul Heyman has commented on his behind-the-scenes relationship with WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns away from the ring.

Heyman currently serves as the Special Counsel for Reigns’ Bloodline faction, and has been aligned with the Tribal Chief since August 2020, excluding Heyman’s brief reunions with Brock Lesnar.

Speaking on Tetragrammaton with Rick Rubin, Heyman stated that he and Reigns are close backstage, noting that he learns a lot from the top WWE star.

Discussing Reigns’ mentality, Heyman said:

“Roman Reigns is a fascinatingly intelligent human being. Brilliant. All false humility aside, behind the scenes, I serve as wise man for Roman Reigns — for that human being. 100%.

“But I learn as much from him … every day as he will ever learn from me.” 

“He is forward-thinking, I gotta keep up with him. I’m challenged every day to keep up with the progressive approach that he takes to our industry.

“He looked at pandemic WWE with a digital audience in a manner that no one else did.”

Following Reigns’ appearance in the Olympics 2024 commercial, a top athlete associated with WWE hinted at a confrontation with the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion.
