Paul Heyman Reacts To Malakai Black Vs. Buddy Matthews Indie Match

Paul Heyman has taken to Twitter to react to a Malakai Black vs Buddy Matthews match that took place last night.

The match took place at the WrestleCade convention in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with both men having been released by WWE earlier this year.

When Heyman was in charge of Raw creative, Black and Murphy were took men he tried to focus on, and Black has even said there was a plan that they’d come back to the rivalry as a big match at WrestleMania in a few years.

Upon seeing the photo of their match last night posted by Matthews (Murphy), Heyman tweeted:

Great talent will always find a way to showcase their abilities. I am, indeed, quite proud, and never let “promotional boundaries” limit that and those who inspire my admiration.

Unfortunately, after Paul Heyman was removed from his Raw creative role, both men ended up slipping back down the pecking order and eventually being seen as expendable to the point they were released.

At one point, Black was even one of the two guys that WWE was debating on having win the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36, but obviously the decision was made to go with the other option, which was Drew McIntyre.
