It has been reported since he became Executive Director of Raw that Paul Heyman is very high on both Braun Strowman and Ricochet. This certainly makes sense, with Strowman set to be Seth Rollins’ next Universal Championship challenger.
A new report has emerged today suggesting that another Raw star is a favourite of Paul Heyman, and a big push could be in his future.
Per Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Paul Heyman is “very high” on Cedric Alexander. This could perhaps explain why the former Cruiserweight Champion has been receiving more TV time as of late.
“Paul Heyman is very high on Cedric, it’s very clear. If you watch the TV you can tell.”
Cedric Alexander did very little of note in his first few months on the main roster, but is currently in a mini-feud with Drew McIntyre. Cedric is also set to be part of the King of the Ring tournament, and will be facing Sami Zayn in the first round on Raw.
With WWE reportedly only bringing back the King of the Ring tournament to make a star out of the eventual winner, perhaps Paul Heyman is planning on giving Cedric the big win, propelling him into the main event scene.
