HBO has released an exclusive first look at the upcoming ‘Peacemaker’ series, starring John Cena in the titular role.
The series is a spin-off from DC’s The Suicide Squad, which hit cinemas in the summer. The first season of the series will have eight episodes focusing on the origin of Peacemaker, who ‘believes in peace no matter the cost.’
The series is written and directed by James Gunn, who also wrote and directed The Suicide Squad, and the MCU Guardian of the Galaxy films.

The series will premiere on HBO Max in January 2022.
John Cena last wrestled for WWE at SummerSlam, unsuccessfully challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. The Tribal Chief is set to face Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel on October 21.
