Penta made his WWE debut on the January 13 episode of Raw in a match that had some fans fearing he had become injured.
The former AEW star’s debut match on last night’s WWE Raw saw him defeat Chad Gable, as can be seen in the highlights below this news story.
During the match, some fans noted that Penta appeared to be favoring his leg, leading to a belief that he may have picked up an injury.
PW Insider has now confirmed that this was not the case, with Penta selling his leg as it it were injured.
Penta’s debut wasn’t without issue, however, with it being reported that the match and post-match promo went longer than had been initially planned.
It was noted that time had to be trimmed from other segments due to the match and promo segment going long, leaving some backstage ‘not thrilled’.
WWE management, however, were reported happy with Penta’s debut and fan reaction at the SAP Center in San Jose.
With WWE dropping Penta merch ahead of last night’s Raw, PW Insider also noted that early sale numbers have left WWE “very happy.”
Penta’s brother and Lucha Bros tag partner Rey Fenix has now addressed the WWE debut, which you can read more about right here.
