On the go-home episode of SmackDown before Backlash, Jeff Hardy and Sheamus had, for my money, one of the worst segments in recent WWE history.
The segment saw Sheamus force Jeff Hardy to take a drugs test, only for Hardy to then throw the pot of urine into the Irishman’s face. It was bad.
Thanks to a recent report from Fightful Select, we now know the producer and writer responsible for putting on the infamous segment between the two former WWE Champions:
“In case you were wondering, the now infamous segment featuring Jeff Hardy tossing a jug full o’ piss on Sheamus’ face was produced by D-Von Dudley and written by creative writer Zach Hyatt. There was also a road writer involved that we couldn’t identify. The segment had originally called for the doctor to be named “Dr. Kirshenbuam,” but it was never referenced on commentary for whatever reason.”
The match that Sheamus and Hardy had at Backlash a few days later was actually pretty damn good, with Sheamus picking up the win. The pair will likely go one-on-one again at Extreme Rules.
