People In WWE ‘Legitimately Surprised’ By Recent Title Change

People within WWE were said to have been legitimately surprised by a recent championship change in the company.

The SmackDown after WrestleMania 41 took place last Friday, with the show featuring a number of big moments, which included a title change.

On the show, Zelina Vega faced off against Chelsea Green for the Women’s United States Championship, with Zelina eventually picking up the victory, becoming the second ever Women’s United States Champion.

The title change came after weeks of Vega besting Chelsea, and it came as a shock to even some within the company.

Per PWInsider Elite (Subscription required), a lot of people within WWE were legitimately surprised when Zelina won the Women’s United States Championship on SmackDown.

The title switch was reportedly kept pretty quiet, with most of the talent watching backstage having no idea that the title change was happening until the end of the match.

The Women’s United States Championship marks Zelina Vega‘s first ever singles championship in her career, having previously won the Queen of the Ring tournament and the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
