As if NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV wasn’t exciting enough, WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne has laid down a challenge to new NXT North American Champion Ricochet. Oh yes, this is going to happen at some point in the not too distant future.
Following his victory over Adam Cole, the ‘One and Only’ was confronted by Undisputed Era members Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly backstage. Just as it appeared an attack may be on the cards, Dunne appeared to stand with Ricochet, but everything changed once the NXT Tag Team Champions walked away.
Stating that they weren’t friends, Pete took aim at the strap sitting over Trevor Mann’s shoulder, confirming that he was carrying a piece of gold that would be added to the already glittering trophy case of the ‘Bruiserweight’.
WrestleTalk would like to hear your views on this potential match. Is this a five-star show-stealer? Would you be ok with Ricochet losing the title so soon if it was to Pete Dunne? Who is the better champion? You can tell us your thoughts on Twitter and Discord today.
