In the last few weeks, WWE has been on something of a releasing spree, with dozens of names, both wrestlers and office staff being sacked by Vince McMahon’s company.
On April 15, WWE announced several stars, including Peyton Royce, had been released, and today we got another six names on the release list, including SmackDown star and leader of the Riott Squad, Ruby Riott.
Riott is widely considered to be one of the most under-utilised wrestlers WWE has ever had, and future opponents are already lining themselves up, as you can see from Peyton Royce’s tweet below.
Royce, now known as Cassie Lee, responded to a fan suggesting she should have a match with Heidi Lovelace, Ruby Riott’s pre-WWE gimmick.

Both Lee and Riott have several months remaining on their non-compete clauses, but once they’re both over, we could be seeing a lot of former WWE stars face off against each other in rival promotions.
We will continue to bring you all the news and reaction to WWE’s latest set of releases throughout the coming days.
