Following her debut on Raw, former NXT UK star Piper Niven has commented on body shaming she has received throughout her career.
On Monday, Piper Niven defeated Naomi on behalf of Eva Marie. Following the segment, Mia Yim tweeted her disgust at some comments she had read about Niven online.
Niven has since addressed the situation. On Twitter, Niven noted that she doesn’t worry about the comments made about her as they mostly come from individuals who want to believe that success is only for “perfect people”.
Explaining her thoughts, Niven tweeted:
“Successful big people are often met with this because we remind people of their own shortcomings, they want to believe that success is only for the ‘perfect people’ and that’s why they didn’t achieve their dreams and we prove them wrong. Don’t even worry about them, I don’t.”
Niven has been wrestling for over a decade. She participated in the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017, defeating Santana Garrett and Serena Deeb in the tournament.
She joined NXT UK in 2019, wrestling her last match for the brand in March. The NXT UK Championship recently changed hands, ending Kay Lee Ray’s 649 day reign with the title.
In an exclusive interview, Alexander Wolfe stated that not all NXT stars want to be called up to the main roster.
