It was reported several months ago that WWE was planning on having Bayley defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against best friend Sasha Banks at WrestleMania this year.
However, when Sasha Banks was out of action with an ankle injury, it was reported that WWE had changed their minds and were going to give the ‘Mania title match at Naomi.
Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT is now reporting that WWE is going to have Bayley defend her title against Banks, Naomi and three other women in a six-pack challenge at WrestleMania.
A source tells me the plan for the SD women’s title at WM36 is a six-pack challenge right now.
Bayley v Sasha v Naomi v Lacey Evans v Carmella – that’s five of the six names.

According to McCarthy, a source confirmed to time that as of today, the plan is to have Bayley defend against Sasha Banks, Naomi, Lacey Evans, Carmella and another female star.
When he asked if Alexa Bliss will be the sixth female in the match, McCarthy was told that the plan is for her to team with Nikki Cross to challenge The Kabuki Warriors for the Women’s tag titles. The match will also feature Beth Phoenix and Natalya.
I asked if Alexa Bliss was the other, but I’m told Bliss/Cross will challenge Kabuki Warriors in addition to Divas of Doom in a thee-way tag.
Sasha V Bayley was an original plan, but I’m told Sasha’s injury caused them to change course.

There is no word on who WWE is planning on having as the sixth person in the women’s title match. However, I think it will likely be either Dana Brooke or a debuting NXT star.
