WWE tapes two matches for WWE Main Event prior to that week’s episode of Raw every Monday, with those two matches airing on the show later in the week.
However, some unusual circumstances arose ahead of this week’s tapings, when WWE taped the standard two matches for the show, seeing Apollo Crews face Akira Tozawa and T-Bar take on Reggie.
However, Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that a third match between Otis and R-Truth was originally slated for the show, but was eventually scrapped due to the company wanting to stick to the usual two match format.
Both Otis and R-Truth would end up featuring on that night’s Raw show, with Otis accompanying Chad Gable to his match with Ezekiel, while R-Truth featured in a backstage segment with Carmella.
