A planned WWE premium live event championship match is ‘up in the air’ in storyline with the current title holder potentially injured.
On tonight’s December 3 episode of WWE NXT, Eric Bischoff made an appearance to host a segment between NXT Champion Trick Williams and #1 contender Ridge Holland.
A title match between the two was confirmed for this weekend’s Deadline PLE a couple of weeks ago when Holland beat Andre Chase.
While Bischoff praised both of them for their skills, their attentions turned to each other as they exchanged insults.
Williams called Holland “bland, vanilla and boring” while Holland called Williams “a stand up comedian with abs”.
They ended up brawling in the ring and then at ringside, as Holland dropped Williams on top of the announce table, which didn’t break.
Medical soon entered the scene who helped Williams away on a stretcher.
After commercial break, it was revealed that NXT GM Ava accompanied Trick in the ambulance as he left, with Ava saying the status of the NXT Championship match at Deadline is now certain.
UPDATE: Later in the show, Ava said that Williams was willing to go ahead with the match as planned.
