The latest update regarding the current plans for the main event of WWE WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas has emerged.
WWE hasn’t hidden the fact that tonight’s Survivor Series ‘WarGames’ event is a precursor to Mania season and will give some big clues for the top matches the event in Vegas next April.
Notably, on Raw, Roman Reigns teased going after either World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk or Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
However, he didn’t clarify which one he was targeting.
Reigns, Punk and Rhodes all find themselves on the same WarGames team alongside The Usos against Brock Lesnar, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul.
There were some changes along the way to get to that lineup, as Seth Rollins suffered an injury last month and had to vacate the World Heavyweight Title, and has been ruled out of action until around Mania season.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s noted that Reigns vs Rollins was the planned main event for WrestleMania 42.
With that now out of the picture due to Rollins’ absence, plans have shifted but still feature Reigns.
The current direction is for Reigns to face either Punk, Rhodes, or whoever has either the World Heavyweight Championship or Undisputed WWE Championship come Mania.
