Plans Changed For SmackDown Opening Segment WWE

Plans were changed for the opening segment for Friday’s (May 20) edition of SmackDown.

Roman Reigns and The Usos opened last week’s show, ahead of the tag title unification bout in the main event. Following the Bloodline’s segment, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Sami Zayn in singles action.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Zayn was originally slated to appear during the opening segment.

Zayn had notably addressed RK-Bro on the Bloodline’s behalf on the previous week’s show, before losing to Riddle.

In the main event of Friday’s episode, The Usos defeated Orton & Riddle to walk away with both the Raw & SmackDown Tag Team Championships. This result was reportedly a last minute decision, which you can read more about right here.
