An update on a popular AEW pairing potentially breaking up from tonight’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view event.
Heading into tonight’s AEW Revolution show, Ricochet was in possession of Prince Nana’s prized Embassy robe, stealing it following his victory over Swerve Strickland on Dynamite last month.
On last week’s Dynamite, Prince Nana told Swerve that he was sick of seeing his legacy be disrespected, telling Swerve to get his robe back, or else he doesn’t know if he can do this anymore.
This led to the match between Ricochet and Swerve at tonight’s Revolution event, with the winner set to become the number one contender for the AEW World Championship.
However, Swerve’s anger got the better of him during the match, with him raining punches down on Ricochet outside the ring, with Nana stepping in to pull Swerve off, reminding him to finish the match in the ring.
Swerve would then shove Nana to the ground, which led to some tensions between Swerve and Nana, with Nana walking out on Swerve, flipping him off as he was leaving.
However, later in the match, Nana returned to ringside, retrieving his robe off the ring post, only for Nana to wipe him out with a suicide dive, taking the robe back.
Nana would enter the ring, attempting to retrieve the robe, but he ended up getting accidentally taken out by Swerve Strickland.
In the end, Swerve would put Ricochet down with Big Pressure, earning him the next shot at the AEW World Championship, and earning Prince Nana his robe back.
Swerve would hand Nana back his robe, with the two men then embracing in the ring.
