Powerhouse Hobbs Files For Trademark On Two Nicknames

AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs has quickly become one of the more popular stars on AEW programming following his split from Ricky Starks and Team Taz back on July 27.

Hobbs scored a shockingly quick victory over Starks at AEW All Out as he continues his rise in the company, and he’s looking to have control over his character in the future.

Hobbs filed to trademark two terms back on September 29, one of which being his new nickname ‘Monstar’. The trademark was accompanied by the following description:

“Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestling and sports entertainment in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes.”

The nickname wasn’t the only trademark that Hobbs filed for, also trademarking the term ‘The Book of Hobbs’ in the following Goods & Services realm:

Hats; Shirts; Bandanas; Shirts and short-sleeved shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts.

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestling and sports entertainment in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes.

Hobbs was defeated by Ricky Starks in the rematch from All Out in a Lights Out match in the main event of the AEW Grand Slam special episode of Rampage in Arthur Ashe Stadium.
