Eddie Kingston Is Proud Of Jon Moxley Following Contract Extension AEW

A popular AEW star says he is proud of Jon Moxley following his recent contract extension.

The friendship of Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston has become one of the most endearing in all of wrestling.

Starting out as rivals and transitioning smoothly into best friends, the duo have been through a lot in their wrestling careers.

Last week, it was revealed that AEW World Champion Jon Moxley had signed a five-year contract extension that will keep him with the company until 2027. As part of the deal, Moxley will expand his responsibilities to mentoring and coaching talent.

Speaking with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Eddie Kingston was asked about Moxley’s contract extension and his friend taking on more responsibilities.

Kingston answered:

“Good, he has five more years of dealing with me. I hope he does it big with this expanded role. But he can’t come up to me in a suit and tie with a piece of paper telling me what to do. I’d be like, “My man, it’s like Jay-Z trying to tell DMX what to do. That’s why they had their falling out.” A little bit of kidding aside, I’m proud of everything he does. I’ll always be proud of him. I got his back even if I don’t agree sometimes. That’s how I see my friendship with him. I just hope his expanded role backstage doesn’t take away the focus of the world championship. That’s the most important thing outside of his family. Hopefully, all this backstage stuff doesn’t distract him from that. It’s my only concern, but either way, I got his back, which may force me to do things I don’t want to do.”

Jon Moxley defeated Bryan Danielson in the finals of the Tournament of Champions to win the AEW World Championship on the Grand Slam edition of Dynamite.

Moxley will defend the AEW World Championship against Hangman Adam Page on the October 18 edition of Dynamite from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Meanwhile, Eddie Kingston last competed against Sammy Guevara in a loss on the Grand Slam edition of AEW Rampage.
