Over the years, several independent stars have appeared on AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation as a platform to eventually sign a contract with the promotion.
Names such as former AEW World Tag Team Champions the Acclaimed, Willow Nightingale and Action Andretti all got their starts on Dark.
In recent weeks, popular women’s independent star Billie Starkz has been in action at the tapings, facing names such as Britt Baker, Toni Storm and Yuka Sakazaki.
Billie was also in action at the ROH television tapings at Universal Studios last weekend, leading to a lot of speculation that she could be under an agreement with the company.
AEW recently offered a contract to Dark standout Ashley D’Amboise, leading many to wonder if Starkz was also offered a deal.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), despite the recent appearances, Starkz is still currently a free agent.
The report does also note that there has been more tiered AEW signings made recently, but the details on who or what they are for are not yet known.
The first episode of Tony Khan’s ROH television show is set to air this Thursday.
