A new report has revealed popular international star Mina Shirakawa is set to become a free agent and AEW is her likely destination.
In 2024, STARDOM’s Mina Shirakawa debuted in All Elite Wrestling and quickly became one of the more popular female stars for the company. In previous interviews, Shirakawa has expressed her desire to move to the United States of America.
Per Tokyo Sports, Mina Shirakawa is set to leave STARDOM and become a free agent. On her likely destination, the report reads (via translation):
“Speaking of America, a move to WWE is also possible, but AEW, where she competed many times last year, is also home to Mercedes Monet, the Strong Women’s Champion whom she challenged and lost to at the Tokyo Dome event on January 5th of this year, so she is also a likely candidate to move to in order to get revenge.”
Fightful Select (subscription required) confirmed that Shirakawa is expected to join All Elite Wrestling with a press conference planned for later this week.
Shirakawa previously challenged Timeless Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024.
Most recently, Mina faced Mercedes Mone for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship and RevPro Undisputed Women’s Championship at AEW x NJPW Wrestle Dynasty in the Tokyo Dome on January 5.
WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on Mina Shirakawa’s status when they become available.
