It appears a popular match type is set to be used at the upcoming WWE Royal Rumble event in January 2023.
As previously reported, WWE CCO Triple H has confirmed that the company plans to scrap the Hell In A Cell premium live event.
The reasoning given is that The Game wants the stipulation to be used when appropriate and not just because of a show dedicated to it.
A new report has revealed when the popular match type may make its first appearance outside of the event.
Wrestlingnews.co reported that there has been talk in WWE about a Hell In A Cell match happening at the Royal Rumble PLE.
This would mark the first Hell In A Cell match for the company since Cody Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins in the steel structure at the titular event in June.
The last Cell match to happen outside of the titular show was Bobby Lashley vs. Xavier Woods on the June 21, 2021 edition of WWE Raw.
The WWE Royal Rumble 2023 will take place from San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, January 28, 2023. For the full lineup for the show, click here.
As previously mentioned, plans for Ronda Rousey’s opponent for the Rumble have already been revealed.
Also, reports have also revealed who WWE plans to have challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
