A popular WWE star has sincerely thanked his fans after coming “so close” to achieving his dream at Elimination Chamber 2021.
In the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match, Cesaro had a gutsy showing. Lasting almost 33 minutes, Cesaro was on his way to an underdog victory before being eliminated by Jey Uso.
Cesaro took to social media following the match to thank his fans. Noting that he was speechless after coming so close to success, he told his supporters that he’ll always appreciate them.
Returning from a silent drive, Cesaro tweeted:
“I’ve been driving for an hour in silence. I don’t really know what to say. So close. Thanks to everyone who believed and still does. I still do. I appreciate you. Always.”
After Cesaro’s elimination, Daniel Bryan made Uso tap out to earn his Universal Championship #1 contendership. Alas, Bryan had been torn apart by the Elimination Chamber match and was choked unconscious by Roman Reigns in under two minutes.
After the Universal Championship match, Edge ambushed Reigns, choosing him as his WrestleMania 37 opponent.
Cesaro has been climbing the rankings on Smackdown in recent months. Defeating former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan at the beginning of the month, Cesaro feels like WWE are overlooking his talents.
With Fastlane and WrestleMania both around the corner, we’ll have to tune into SmackDown on Friday to see what’s next for Cesaro.
