It has been over one thousand days since Roman Reigns was last pinned on WWE television, losing to Baron Corbin at TLC in 2019.
WWE constantly touts Reigns’ record of not being pinned since December 2019 due to him taking two defeats since then, one to Seth Rollins by disqualification at Royal Rumble 2022, and the other to Xavier Woods on SmackDown, also by disqualification.
Woods spoke to WhatCulture Wrestling at WaleMania over WrestleMania 39 weekend, where he made the pitch for himself to be the next man to step up to the Tribal Chief.
He said:
“I’m the first man to break Roman Reigns’ two-year winning streak, but we just don’t talk about it. Why? Tell me why. I don’t understand why we don’t talk about this … I’m fighting tooth and nail to get any kind of respectable match in my wheelhouse,”
Woods says that other opponents have been ‘pulled off the streets’ and ‘just say they want to be champion’, before ending by asking us to hashtag #LetWoodsFight.
Woods is set to face off with LA Knight on tomorrow night’s SmackDown show.
