Popular WWE Star Potentially Written Off Of TV On Raw

Last night on Raw, former NXT Champion Aleister Black made the save for Dominik Mysterio as he was being beaten down by Murphy and former Universal Champion, Seth Rollins.

This didn’t end too well for Aleister Black, as his long-time rival Murphy brutally attacked his eye with the ring steps, as we have seen Seth Rollins do to Rey Mysterio over the last few months.

It seems like this may not just be your typical beatdown angle, as Dave Meltzer notes that there has been backstage talk of writing Aleister Black off of TV over the last few weeks.

Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has noted that the original plan for this angle was to write Aleister Black off of TV for an undisclosed period of time:

“I know the original plan was to take him out, I don’t know for how long. That was the original idea is to do an injury angle with Aleister Black which is kinda weird when you’re low on talent.”

I understand Meltzer’s point. Writing one of the best performers in the world off of TV, in theory, isn’t the best thing to do when you are severely lacking in-depth on your show.

However, considering what Black is doing right now, a few weeks off of TV may be the best thing for him. Black has been limited to being a side-piece in other people’s stories, and that’s detrimental to his character.

Speaking of Aleister Black, there are some reports suggesting that Vince McMahon has some reservations and concerns about the gimmick, and thinks it has some limitations. You can read more about that by clicking here.
