Update On Possible CM Punk/WWE Interest After Raw Backstage Visit WWE

UPDATE: A breakdown of what actually happened with CM Punk backstage at Raw has emerged, find out more at this link.

An update has emerged on possible CM Punk/WWE interest after Punk’s visit to Raw in Chicago last night (April 24).

Punk was backstage and reportedly spoke with the likes of The Miz who he “cleared the air” with, Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, Tamina (which there’s video footage of), and mainly Paul Levesque (Triple H).

You can read a bit about what happened between Punk and Levesque at this link, but there’s a new update from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer said:

“The feeling in WWE was that he was there because he wanted back.

“Obviously there were talks of him going back, whatever it was, late last year. But he couldn’t go because he was still under contract.

“And my impression is this was with Paul Levesque in charge and not Vince, and my impression was they didn’t have any interest in him at that time.”

The idea of Punk being there because he wants to return to WWE is of course only one theory, but it was said to be one that plenty of people backed up.

A different theory, and one that looks a lot more likely right now, is that it was a “publicity stunt” ahead of Punk’s upcoming return to AEW on the new Saturday night show.

We will of course keep you up to speed with any further updates, which you’ll be able to find at this link.
